Online News and Information
  • The Central Asia-Caucasus Institute of The Johns Hopkins University--Nitze School of Advanced International Studies publishes a biweekly Web-Journal, The Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst. The institute also offers its readers the option of downloading the Analyst in PDF format from http://www.cacianalyst.org/Issue_ad.htm.
  • EurasiaHealth Knowledge Network
  • EurasiaNet is an Internet news service, covering the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus, as well as Afghanistan, Turkey, the Middle East and Mongolia. The service acts as a "consolidator" of news and information from outside sources, including the British Broadcasting Corporation, Radio Free Europe-Radio Liberty and Interfax. Its database of links and resources concerning the Caucasus and Central Asia is "perhaps the most comprehensive" found anywhere on the web. EurasiaNet claims to provide "exclusive analysis, emphasizing in-depth coverage of political economic and social issues largely unaddressed by other information sources. It provides an outlet for opinions that challenge conventional wisdom." Contributors are based both in the West and in the region and there are Russian and Arabic versions of the website. EurasiaNet is part of the Central Eurasia Project of the Open Society Institute.
  • RFE/RL Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty is a private, international communications service to Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe; the Caucasus; and Central and Southwestern Asia funded by the U.S. Congress through the Broadcasting Board of Governors. It produces radio broadcasts and a score of e-mail "Reports" that together comprise one of the best single sources of daily information on the countries in the region.
