TITLE: Training Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Regional Director; Almaty, Kazakhstan
POSITION LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan
Position is open to US and non-US citizens and is contingent upon
funding.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: IREX seeks applicants for the position of Training
Coordinator. This is part of IREX's bid to administer USAID's program
Combating Human Trafficking in Central Asia (RFA Number DM122-03-013).
Per the RFA, "The primary objective of this activity is to educate the
public on the dangers of human trafficking, assist in developing
appropriate legislation to combat human trafficking and provide
protection services to trafficked victims through a combination of
information dissemination, technical assistance and training." To read

Applicants are solicited to work full-time for the first year of the
program. While the position will be based in Almaty, it will involve
significant travel within Kazakhstan and in the Central Asian region.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Under supervision of the Regional Director,
develop and implement training programs to combat human trafficking in
Central Asia; Travel throughout Central Asia to train local NGOs and
other key players (media, local government officials, etc.) in methods
to combat trafficking; Design and follow assessment procedures to
measure the impact of trainings in the region; Perform statistical
analysis of training results.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be well organized, able to work
independently, skilled at handling multiple tasks, able to adhere to
deadlines, and willing to travel extensively. Other specific
qualifications should include at a minimum:
* Experience in training and curriculum development, including
Training-of-Trainers models
* Background in anti-trafficking work or gender issues
* Able to design and conduct behavior-change programs
* Experience in organizational development
* Commitment to participatory approaches
* Fluency in Russian or a local Central Asian language
* Willingness to travel extensively in region
* Experience working in Central Asia preferred
