The mission of Firefly Children's Network is to improve the lives of Russian
orphans who have been abandoned due to real or perceived disabilities.
Through programs and partnerships, we address orphans' urgent needs for
food, clothing, shelter and medical care, as well as provide their
caregivers with training in medical and educational methodologies at a world
standard of excellence.
FCN seeks a highly skilled and qualified individual to lead and administer
all aspects of its fundraising efforts.  The Director of Development will
serve as the chief fundraising strategist, lead all fundraising efforts, and
report directly to the Board of Directors.  Specific responsibilities
include: development of written strategies encompassing individual, planned,
corporate and foundation giving as well as cultivation and recognition
programs; assist with the development of marketing materials for individual
and major gifts; oversee all aspects of the grant writing process including
prospecting and responding to requests for proposals; assess current
development infrastructure and make recommendations for long-term
sustainability.
The successful candidate will have seven or more years of experience in
non-profit fundraising or marketing preferably with an international
organization.  Must posses strong oral and written presentation skills;
demonstrated ability to raise large sums of money from individuals,
corporations, foundations and the government; and a willingness to work with
a young, growing organization.
