Imagine bringing a a highly diverse group of people, including Russians, Africans, a German, a
Scot, an Irishman, a few people from England, from the USA, and Japan to look
briefly
at how we deal with conflict in our day to day lives and to see what
tools we have already to resolve them. And all in English!
That is what we did in the space of less than two hours recently at an
Alternatives to Violence Project English-language introductory
workshop. In that short period we touched upon such intense and varied
issues as responding to corporal punishment, sexual harrassment, and
racism against Africans in Moscow.
Because of the interest generated in these workshops from that gathering, I would like to invite
English-speakers in Moscow to a full-length Alternatives to Violence Project
workshop set to take place February 22-24, Fri-Sun.
In brief, our workshops are experiential communication and conflict resolution workshops
focusing
on community-building, empowerment, affirmation, and cooperation.
