Subject: Criminal Law Program Director, CEELI
The Central and East European Law Initiative (CEELI) seeks an
attorney to coordinate criminal law reform efforts in Central and
Eastern Europe (CEE) and the former Soviet Union (NIS). CEELI is a
public service project of the American Bar Association (ABA) designed
to advance the rule of law by supporting the legal reform process in
Central and Eastern Europe and the New Independent States of the
former Soviet Union.
Location: Washington, DC, with travel throughout the CEE and NIS
Requires: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
self-starter with minimum of 10 years of criminal law experience;
substantial management skills a must.
Prefer: International development experience strongly preferred;
prosecutorial and/or criminal defense experience; knowledge of
CEE/NIS legal systems and recent political and legal developments in
the region; international experience; familiarity with finance and
project administration; and proficiency in CEE/NIS language.
Salary: Negotiable, based on experience
