Dear Colleagues:
First I take the freedom to introduce myself to you. My name is
Olimjon Beknazarov. I was born in Uzbekistan. Allready a number of
years now I have the Dutch Nationality. My profession is
dancer/choreographer. In the enclosed Application you can read about
my education and what I did where it concerns my work. More
information about me you can find on my website: www.come.to/olimbek
The reason why I write this letter to you is as follows. The in
Uzbekistan aswell as in Europe and the United States famous
experimental Theatre "ILKHOM" from Tashkent, Uzbekistan invited me
for coming October to work together with them on the
modern-production "The imitation of the Koran". This very unique
production brings together a number of theatre-disciplines like
acting, music, singing and dance. It is based on the poem with the
same name from Alexander Pushkin.
They asked me to do the co-directing and the choreography. This
invitation is for me a very important and honnorable challenge which
I would really love to fullfill with all my hart.
In the meantime we worked out all the conditions for realising this
working together.
Only with one exeption. I am a freelance choreographer with only
limited financial possibilities. "ILKHOM" is in the same situation.
For working on this production my presents in Uzbekistan is requierd
for five weeks.
I take de liberty to ask you kindly to help me and the "ILKHOM"
theatre in making possible this co-operation.
The total cost for my travel and acommodation is estimated at about
$3,000.
Kindly I request you to support us for this amount.
Of course we promise you, as you wish, to use your name at the
performences and in the publicity around it in Uzbekistan and Europe.
In view of the short time left untill October, the month were it has
to take place, I am looking forward to your reaction in due time.
With many thanks and kind regards,
Yours Truly,
Olimjon Beknazarov
