International Organizations: Security and Peace

Committee on Eastern Europe and Russia in NATO (CEERN) promotes study and exchange of ideas on NATO expansion, with a view to a plan of expansion that would be Russia-friendly.

The U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) promotes scientific and technical collaboration between the United States and the countries of the Former Soviet Union (FSU).  The basic aim of the organization is to help FSU scientists is military fields find alternative employment, to assist in building non-defense economies for Russia's so-called "closed cities," and to reduce the risks of proliferation of nuclear materials and technology.
