The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) is a
non-profit organization working to strengthen democratic institutions
worldwide by providing practical training to leaders of democratic political
parties, civic groups and legislators. Information is available at
www.ndi.org <http://www.ndi.org>. NDI seeks resident representatives to
coordinate training of political parties, civic groups or parliamentarians
in several countries of the former Soviet Union. Positions are based in
those countries. Working with NDI's Washington office, resident
representatives would design and implement training programs in such areas
as organizational development, advocacy, communications and strategic
planning.
Summary
NDI seeks individuals to coordinate training for political party activists
and civic groups in several countries in the former Soviet Union. Trainers
would design and implement training programs in areas such as organizational
development, advocacy, communications and strategic planning. Positions are
based overseas.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a full benefit
package and full time translator. Applicants must be able to make a one-year
commitment to the position.
Qualifications
Required
* A minimum of five years experience working with non-governmental
organizations, legislatures or political parties at the state or national
level.
* Effective written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to
communicate skills and experience to others.
Highly Desirable
* Previous training experience.
* Work experience abroad.
* Familiarity with international political systems.
* Knowledge of the former Soviet Union, especially Russia or
Azerbaijan.
