Translator/VE Assistant
IESC is the largest not-for-profit business development organization in the
world, utilizing its thirteen thousand strong databases of senior-level
professionals--all of whom donate their time and experience--to improve
private and public enterprises in more than 50 developing countries and
emerging markets. IESC has provided effective, results-oriented assistance
to businesses, NGOs, and governmental agencies in 120 countries over the
last 34 years and in Armenia specifically over the last 8 years.
The IESC Representative Office in Armenia, fully funded by USAID, is seeking
qualified applicants to work in a busy, multi-task office environment.
Responsibilities:
Act as translator/interpreter for an IESC Volunteer Executive (VE). Under
the supervision of the Volunteer Program Coordinator the
translator/assistant will:
§ translate handouts as necessary in a timely manner
§ interpret during meetings, training sessions, workshops
§ assist VE as requested, i.e. arrange meetings, make phone calls,
coordinate transportation with Volunteer Program Coordinator (VPC) or
Country Director in his/her absence, coordinate training/workshop sessions
with Training Coordinator (TC)
§ communicate the issues/problems to VPC and/or TC
§ summarize evaluations if directed by VPC and/or TC
§ create a back-up for the Armenian translated handouts to pass on to VPC
and / or TC
Skills/qualifications:
Excellent English/Armenian language abilities required. Excellent
communication skills, highly organized and flexible candidates ONLY.
Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point), organizational and
administrative skills, and attention to detail.  Flexible schedule and
ability to work evenings when necessary.  Fluency in English and Armenian
required.
