Job Title:          Communications Manager
Reports to:       President, FRAEC
Location:          Seattle, WA
Salary:              $38,000-$45,000, dependent on qualifications
About the Foundation:
Founded in 1989, The Foundation for Russian American Economic Cooperation
(FRAEC) is one of the oldest, customer-focused, not-for-profit organizations
working toward fostering economic cooperation between Russia and the United
States by promoting international commercial and educational activities.  In
addition to serving its members, FRAEC administers a number of strategic
programs primarily, but not entirely, focused on the Russian Far East and
U.S. West Coast.
Position Description:
The Foundation is seeking a dynamic self-starter who can help the Foundation
clearly and effectively present to its constituents, members, clients,
potential funding sources and the community at large its mission and
accomplishments through its website, printed materials, public media, and
public and membership events.
Responsibilities:
The Communications Manager will:
·        Manage the maintenance of the Foundation's website and plan for its
future growth.
·        Create various marketing materials including brochures, annual
reports, and membership directories among others to convey a consistent
image of the Foundation.
·        Develop strategies and manage membership development and
communications in consultation with the President and the Board of
Directors.
·        Oversee all external communications, including weekly and monthly
publications and other general listserv communications.
·        Develop, plan and promote Foundation events that will create
support and interest in the activities and mission of the Foundation.
·        Consult with the Foundation's various programs regarding related
issues, such as promotion of events, marketing materials and publications,
etc.
·        Increase community awareness of FRAEC and encourage the development
of strong relationships with the business community and the numerous trade
and nonprofit organizations in the area.
Qualifications:
·        A bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, marketing,
communications or related field.
·        Two to three years of experience in public relations, media
production or communications.
·        Excellent oral and written communication skills.
·        Ability to initiate and effectively manage projects without close
supervision.
·        Ability to work well in a team environment.
·        Ability to develop a concept through group process and convert it
into an effective visual product.
·        Strong interest in or experience working with Russia is desirable,
and Russian language skills a plus
