IMC Graduate School of Management in Budapest Announces Merger with CEU
The IMC Graduate School of Management in Budapest, one of the first
institutions to offer an American MBA degree in Central and Eastern Europe,
has recently merged with Central European University. The merger was
approved by both boards of directors in October and took effect November 12.
The school is now officially known as the IMC Graduate School of Management
of Central European University. CEU, which already offers its own degrees
under the authority of the Department of Education of the State of New York,
has initiated procedures that will extend the same authority to the IMC MBA
for students entering in the fall of 2002.
The merger gives IMC new organizational and financial strength as it begins
to implement an enhanced version of its MBA program. The new program
features an international faculty teaching exclusively in English and an
action learning program in which students work as consultants with
cooperating companies to deliver value-added ideas that can be implemented
in practice.
IMC will continue to offer a range of exchange programs with leading Western
business schools, including the Weatherhead School of Management of Case
Western University, with which IMC has worked for several years.
As in the past, IMC expects to attract a diverse student body from Central
Europe, from countries to the East of Europe, and from Western Europe and
North America, and to offer financial aid to qualified candidates.
Further information about the program can be obtained at www.imc.hu or by
contacting Director of Admissions Barrie Riome at [email protected].
