TITLE: Resident Advisor for Broadcast Media, IREX/Bosnia
REPORTS TO: Senior Program Officer
POSITION LOCATION: Sarajevo

programs between the United States and the countries of Eastern Europe, the
New Independent States, Asia, and the Near East.  IREX fosters excellence in
services to internal and external customers and encourages all staff to
continuously improve the systems and processes that are essential to our
work.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: 
IREX seeks applicants for the position of Resident Advisor for Broadcast
Media.  ProMedia is a USAID funded project operating throughout Bosnia and
Herzegovina and headquartered in Sarajevo.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include the following:
�	Oversee services provided to a variety of broadcast media that have
applied to IREX for training, grants, or business consulting
�	Manage selection of new outlets that have applied for assistance
�	Manage local staff that assist with project management and training
�	Oversee selection of short-term expatriate and local consultants 
�	Be able to identify the needs of each media outlet, on both the
journalism and commercial sides
�	Be able to conduct training in all or most of the following:
production, management, finance training, sales, marketing, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have many, if not all, of the following
qualifications:
�	Experience and expertise in both television and radio 
�	Experience should be heavy in management and sales management 
�	Sufficient knowledge of programming, news, and production to be able
to evaluate proposals from Bosnian grant applicants 
�	Engineering/technical background would be a plus 
�	Significant commercial media experience
�	Work in advertising agencies or station representative companies
would be a plus, but not required 
�	International experience would be desirable, as would any facility
with local (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian) language
