Center Director
Applied Research and Training Centers
The Eurasia Foundation is seeking candidates to direct three new social
science library resource and training facilities to be created in the South
Caucasus.   Each university-based center will offer training in modern
social science research methodologies and will house key bibliographic and
online resources for policy-oriented research in the social sciences.
Centers will also work to promote regional networking for social scientists
and cross-border dialogue on the policy implications of research on key
issues.   Centers are planned in three cities: Baku, Yerevan, and Tbilisi.
One director is being sought for each center.
Center directors will be responsible for startup and procurement, ongoing
program management, hiring and supervision of a small staff and sound fiscal
management of their respective centers.   Candidates should have a minimum
of 3 years' previous management experience in a professional context and
should hold an M.A. or higher degree in public policy, management, law,
social science or another relevant field.  Candidates must be willing to
work and travel across the South Caucasus, and potentially work with centers
in other neighboring countries.  Qualified local nationals are particularly
encouraged to apply.  Strong English language skills (oral and written)
required,  local language and/or Russian preferred. Candidates with a
knowledge of or experience in western applied research in social sciences
strongly preferred.   Final hire of a director for each Center will be
carried out subject to funding availability.
