Subject: The 11th International Session "Human Rights, Culture of Peace,
    Tolerance - Content and Methods of Education"
On December 3th - 7th, 2001, the Moscow School of Human Rights, the
UNESCO Representatives in the Russian Federation, the Presidential
Commission on Human Rights, and the Moscow Committee of Education are
going to hold in Moscow the annual 11th International Session "Human
Rights, Culture of Peace, Tolerance - Content and Methods of
Education" (training for secondary schools teachers, higher schools
professors, instructors on social sciences, lecturers, managers of
educational institutions, social workers, NGOs representatives to
prepare them to human rights, civic, democracy and peace education).
The session is carried out in the frameworks of the Plan of Action
for United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education, United Nations
Program of Action on a Culture of Peace, and UNESCO and Council of
Europe recommendations on human rights education.
Famous specialists in the sphere of human rights, law, political science,
pedagogy, etc., representing Russian and international organizations, take
part in the Session.
The following problems will be discussed:
-	civic education - for the civil society;
-	international actions: human rights, culture of peace, tolerance;
-	intercultural, interethnic, interconfessional relations: conflicts or
dialogue?
-	human rights, culture of peace and non-violence education (tasks, content,
methods of upbribging and teaching): Russian and foreign experience.
In addition to the plenary meetings, the following sections will be
organized:
1.	Higher Education
2.	General Education (schools; higher and advanced training pedagogical
institutions)
3.	Informal Education, Human Rights Organizations
The participants of the Session will visit high and secondary schools
of Moscow, governmental institutions and human rights NGOs,
committees of the State Duma (Parliament) to get acquainted with
their work in these fields.

previous sessions. The forthcoming 11th Session will be built on the
same model.
The working language of the Session is Russian. During the Session
and at your free time (by escort) we will provide translation to
English.
Training and literature stuff are free of charge for the
participants. The foreign participants are free of the registration
fee (the registration fee for Russian participants is $20, see
details at http://www.mshr.ru/engl/). Unfortunately we are not able
to pay for your trip and stay in Russia. Your participation in the
Session will be a great helping for us.
We invite your organisation, you in person and your colleagues to
take part in the Session. You may propose the theme of your report.
The beginning of the Session is on December 3, 10.00 a.m.
(registration - 9.00 a.m.).
