TITLE: Program Associate, Media Development Division
NOTE: Dependent on Funding
REPORTS TO: Senior Program Officer, IREX/DC
POSITION LOCATION: Washington, DC
ABOUT IREX: IREX is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the
advancement of knowledge. Central to its mission is the empowering of
individuals and institutions to participate meaningfully in civil society.
IREX administers programs between the United States and Eastern Europe, the
New Independent States (NIS), Asia, and the Near East. 
SUMMARY OF POSITION: IREX seeks applicants for the position of Program
Associate for US government-funded independent media development projects in
Bosnia, Croatia, and Romania.  The Program Associate will assist with the
daily administrative operations of three multi-million dollar projects.
Regional (Balkan) language skills are a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
�	Assist staff in creating informational materials.
�	Assist staff in reviewing expense reports, providing financial
oversight, and tracking and 	reporting financial information.
�	Assist staff with writing and coordinating quarterly and monthly
reports, and preparation 	of materials for posting on the web.
�	Maintain correspondence with field staff, program consultants and
partner organizations.
�	Arrange travel and coordinate logistics and finances for program
consultants and IREX field 	staff.
�	Other tasks as appropriate and assigned by the Senior Program
Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
Candidates must be well organized, able to work independently, skilled at
handling multiple tasks, and able to adhere to deadlines.  Other specific
qualifications should include at a minimum: 
General Requirements:
�	BA or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
�	Knowledge of international programs, particularly related to
South-Eastern Europe.  
�	Knowledge of computers and relevant software (MS Office Suite,
Excel, PowerPoint).
�	Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
