Job Description
Title: Development Officer
Reports to: Regional Vice President for Russia
Location: Moscow, Russia
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Regional Vice President for Russia, the
Development Officer is responsible for planning and implementing
adiverse fundraising and outreach program for Russia. This involves
establishing and maintaining relationships with awide variety of
corporate representatives, foundation, foreign government,
and individual donors at the local, regional, national, and
international levels toengage funders in supporting Eurasia
Foundation activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
In carrying out these responsibilities, the Development Officer
duties will include, but are notlimited to, the following:
� Develop an annual and long-term fundraising and outreach plan in
consultation with the regionalvice president, the Russian regional
directors in Moscow, Saratov, andVladivistok, and the D.C.
development office;
� Develop a list ofdonor prospects and cultivate them on an ongoing
basis;
� Generate concept papers, proposals and reports to donors;
� Facilitate visits to the regional offices for EF staff,
congressional delegations, major donors,and others;
� Coordinate with the D.C. development staff on all outreach and
fundraising initiatives;
� Accompany the regional vice president and/or Russia regional
directors to meetings with funders and other contacts as appropriate;
� Supervise the development and content of the office's web site, in
collaboration with program and technical staff;
� Coordinate theproduction of newsletters;
� Work with program staff, writing success stories for use in local
publications and for submission to the DC development office;
� Coordinate contact with the press and other groups in connection
with newsworthy activities;
� Represent EF at various conferences, meetings, and events;
� Assist the regional vice president for Russia on programs and other
aspects of the Foundation's work, as needed.
Qualifications
Education: Educational attainment should be to thelevel of college
degree or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of three or more years of fundraising.
International fundraisingand NIS regional experience are preferred.
Strong strategic planning, organizational, written, and oral
communication skills are required.
Other: Strong fluency in oral and written Russian skills; near native
English language ability; and knowledge of the NIS. Strong computer
skills required.
