Application guidelines
Both the Host and Visitor NGO Applicant Information Form asks for the
following information:
* Full contact information for the applicant group, program or
department.
* The names, full address and telephone/fax numbers of two individuals
who can evaluate and comment on the group's work and the proposed
activities and who can be contacted if the NWP board would like
further information about the applicant organisation.
* Total budget of the organization for 1997-1998, and sources of
funding.
* Please provide as much bank information as possible when applying
for the grant. Successful applicants cannot be awarded their grants
until complete bank information is provided.
Host-Visitor exchanges should be completed by the end of the year
1998. All applications must be written in English. Each organisation
applying to the NWP Small Grant Program should submit the following
documentation in addition to the Applicant Information Form:
* Two page proposal describing the objectives of the proposed project
and expected outcomes.
* Detailed budget and narrative that clearly explains individual line
items (pls be modest and realistic). Please fill the attached budget
form itemizing possible costs of your training, such as staff time for
planning and presenting the training, development and distribution of
materials, accommodation, phone/fax/e-mail/operational support for
organizing the meeting, etc.)
The travel costs of the participants will be included in the Visitor
NGO's budget.
* A one page summary of the past and present activities of the group,
program or department.

Applications should be sent to the NWP in Budapest, and also to the
local Soros Foundation. (E-mails are preferred)

(Applications submitted electronically should be attached in Word 2.0
or higher format, text format, or sent as the main body of the

Conditions of Application
* NWP will provide confirmation of receiving individual applications,
however, it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that
applications reach NWP by the due date.
* Applications not received by the application deadline will not be
considered.
Notification of Grant Awards
Applicants will be notified of the decision of the Selection Committee
by post, and fax or e- mail as requested on the Applicant Information
form. Upon confirmation of receipt of the grant award funds, the
applicant will have to carry out the exchange trip in the Fall-Winter
period of 1998.
Grant Reports
All grant recipients will be required to submit a report, thirty days
after the stipulated completion of the trip, on the success of their
visit/training in the form of a two page description of how the grant
was utilised, and a budget report. Grant recipients who do not provide
reports on their projects will not be eligible to receive NWP grants
in the future.
